"Paradise Flycatcher" - Selected - Birds in Art  2010

Welcome to my Gallery!

I've always been interested in art and nature and combining the two was most  logical thing to do. It may be the sight of  Bharals - Blue Sheep at Bhojbas in the Himalayas or watching the Baya - weaver birds flitting from flowering bushes to Acacia trees at a small dam in Maharashtra, which inspire the paintings. The avian visitors to the bird-table at my window provides a lot of subject material for the paintings.
But the most important thing for me is to be out in the field, to feel the incomparable emotion of experiencing wild things and wild places. My attempt is to try to capture the character of the birds or animals and the environment around them in their natural habitat; to try to create a sense of 'being there'.
I've been painting for about twenty years. I paint mostly birds and animals but all natural things like plants and landscapes inspire me.
